Happy Leap Year! I believe every day is a gift that we should appreciate by being happy and grateful for all the things we do have.
Yesterday when I moved up in line to pay for a beautiful exquisite Egyptian cotton duvet, the cashier rep was intrigued with the shopping bag I was carrying (a standard size paper bag with a store's color and name - CB2). She immediately asked me with wide eyes what kind of items the store had. I found it so interesting how the "bag" drew her attention - especially since she had no idea what type of merchandise was sold at the store. It reminded me how visual most of us really are. How an item, color, shapes, sound, smell can immediately capture our attention outside our home and within it. So my question to you as I sip my coffee today is ….
Does your shopping bag represent you (does your home capture your attention)? Do you walk into your home and immediately notice an item that gives you an “emotional feedback”? Do your rooms make you feel happy, relaxed, energetic or frustrated, confused, blah? If you have no positive emotional reaction to your home, you may have become “used” to your surroundings. Contentment is not happiness. Your home should reflect your personality! And like a shopping bag, it should catch your eye every time you see it and give you an emotional reaction to peek inside the bag. One of my favorite sayings is - Live in the now! Stop leaving for someday what you can do and enjoy today. We all deserve to live in comfort!
Ooooh, speaking (“writing”) of bags – the literal bag that I keep in my kitchen is for groceries. And, it gives me “an emotional feedback” when I see and use it … making me feel happy that I found a stylish bag that helps me carry my groceries while helping reduce the usage of plastic bags. Is it just me or do plastic bags tend to collect as fast as dust bunnies?! Here’s a picture of one that I recently gave to a friend:
They can be purchased at www.howgreenisyourbag.com If you buy one, let me know how you like it and which one you purchased. Mine is the simple classy brown color with the logo name (it goes well with all my outfits)
