The Purpose of Life is a Life of Purpose.

“The Purpose of Life is a Life of Purpose.” I love this sentence by Robert Byrne, and full heartedly agree! I believe that in order to by happy, fulfilled, successful we need to become aware of our being (in the present) and lead ourselves (or in other words follow our hearts) to our genuine unique purpose. When I became aware that I wanted to be an interior designer I felt a sense of peace within me – knowing that I finally found (discovered) what I was passionate about. I asked myself:

What do I love to do?

(my answer: bringing creative drawings to life. Before I became an interior designer, I was a production project manager that brought to life engineering drawings of cosmetic displays)

How can I help other people while doing it?

(my answer: by designing comfort in people’s home).

My ultimate purpose is to help people find comfort and style within their homes so they can concentrate on their purpose … on what brings them joy!

Wallace Wattles an author and success wrote a book in 1910 that guides us on how to live a fulfilled life, he writes: “He must give to every person a use value in excess of the cash value that he receives, so that each transaction makes for more life.”

I practice this with all my clients. When I suggest a particular wall color, furniture, design layout … anything and everything that I believe will enhance my client’s comfort within their home I always take the time to explain “why”. I do not want my clients to accept a design because “I” suggest it, but because they “feel” that it will work for them. In doing so I feel extremely fulfilled.

I believe our world is extremely caught up with what “other” people may think (visiting relatives, friends, and co-workers) that they forget to do things that make “them” happy.

So in case you haven’t asked yourself lately, “what do YOU love?”, go ahead. What would you do if money were no option?
